"To create theatre for the community, by the community". This is the reason The Barn Players was established in 1955. And that is what you, our dedicated patrons, artists, and volunteers have been doing for over 56 years. It is our hope that as you make your holiday contributions this season, that you will include The Barn Players in your plans with an online donation by December 31.

I am thrilled to report that 2011 was a record-breaking season with ten diverse productions seen by over 5,100 attendees and involving over 200 volunteer performers and production team members. Other highlights include:

• Continuation and expansion of our youth productions despite cuts from Kansas Arts Commission and other funding sources;
• Significant growth of our 6x10 10-Minute Play Festival with over 40 entries and the highest attendance rates since it was established four years ago;
• Space for drama classes and performances provided free of charge to clients of The Mission Project, which serves adults with developmental and cognitive challenges; and
• A new community partnership with Wayside Waifs to host a pet adoption event in conjunction with our production of Disney's Aristocats Kids.

With your involvement, The Barn not only creates quality theatrical productions, but also serves as a valuable community partner in providing a place for artists, youth, and others to practice the craft of theatre at all levels in a safe and comfortable environment.
