The Shape Of Things
Welcome To

The Barn Alternative Series
The Barn Alternative Series are Barn Players productions of edgier, more out-of-the-mainstream (for community theatre) plays. Here, chances are taken, risks are explored, artistic freedom is opened up just a bit more. Typically, the stories told in this series will be more modern, and likely will not be shows that are widely known and/or performed to death. We like this. No, we love this. This gives us a chance to bring to bear our most original thinking and original work, and present it to you, as entertainment, as a challenge, maybe even as a wake-up call. Who knows. Freedom is a wonderful thing.

March 9-11 & 16-18, Directed by Eric Magnus
While visiting an art museum, a nerdy college student named Adam meets an iconoclastic artist named Evelyn and is instantly smitten. As their relationship develops, she gradually encourages Adam to change in various ways that surprise his older friends, Jenny and Philip. However, as events progress, Evelyn's antics become darker and darker as her influence begins to transform Adam and his friends in hurtful ways. The shocking twist of an ending offers one of modern theatre's more brutally emotional betrayals.
