Welcome To

The Barn Alternative Series
The Barn Alternative Series are Barn Players productions of edgier, more out-of-the-mainstream (for community theatre) plays. Here, chances are taken, risks are explored, artistic freedom is opened up just a bit more. Typically, the stories told in this series will be more modern, and likely will not be shows that are widely known and/or performed to death. We like this. No, we love this. This gives us a chance to bring to bear our most original thinking and original work, and present it to you, as entertainment, as a challenge, maybe even as a wake-up call. Who knows. Freedom is a wonderful thing.
Previous productions in this series have included, "Orphans," "A Number," "The Shape Of Things," "Proof," and "The Long Christmas Ride Home."

Winner of the 1998 Olivier Award for Best Play and the 1999 New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Foreign Play. Four lives connect over four years in this look at modern love and betrayal. Chance meetings turn into relationships of growing complexity as these four characters seek intimacy but, for various reasons, can't seem to get...closer.
